We're happy to remind you as a member of our Rosh Chodesh Reminder list that Thursday, February 23rd and Friday, February 24th is Rosh Chodesh Adar.
Adar is a two day Rosh Chodesh, which begins Wednesday night (tonight).
Please remember to add Yaale v'Yavo in your Tefillos and bentching after meals beginning Wednesday night until Friday night.
Many have the custom to mark Rosh Chodesh with a festive meal and reduced work activity. The latter custom is prevalent among women.
Special portions are added to the daily prayers: Hallel (Psalms 113-118) is recited -- in its "partial" form -- following the Shacharit Amidah prayer, also the Yaaleh V'yavo prayer is added to the Amidah and to Grace After Meals; the additional Musaf prayer is said (when Rosh Chodesh is Shabbat, special additions are made to the Shabbat Musaf). Tachnun and similar prayers are omitted.
With blessings for a meaningful month of Adar, and a wonderful and Joyous Purim,

Thank You, Rabbi, for the illustrated teaching of Rosh Chodesh, one of my special movements of the month. During my youth, while reading about this minor holiday, for us, Jewish women, I remember always, and repeatedly say to myself when seeing the full month, to count my days because in fifteen days from that full month, a new month, Rosh Chodesh will beginning again, giving me a new fresh start. Thank you again. Reply
YOU FOR GOT SOMETHING You did not mention Rosh Chodesh is a G-d given Yom Tov to the women. This was one of the first things my Chabad Rabbi told me. Reply

Absolutely wonderful!! Beautiful graphics!!
Lev Tahor is back and better than before with “Lev Tahor – LTV”, the group’s fifth studio album and its first in the last 10 years. With rousing dance tracks, beautiful ballads and thumping beats, these songs will get you out of your seat. There is already buzz about the album, that includes the hit song “Gam Zu LeTova” which the group debuted at Lincoln Center a year ago.
The opening track, “Halellu,” fuses an old-school vibe with the new school. Best friends for 30 years, Ari Cukier, Gadi Fuchs and Eli Schwebel spent the past two years making sure the album was everything they wanted it to be. Carefully crafted, this album brings Schwebel’s production sensibilities with the classic harmonies of Lev Tahor.
“Simchas Beis Hashoeva” features star Lipa Schmeltzer in a tune that will knock your socks off and Eli’s father, Rivie Schwebel, blows us away with his duet on “Dror Yikra”.
The infectious hit “Yagga” of Eli Schwebel’s “Hearts Mind” gets an a cappella treatment here, with the masterful collaboration with Ed Boyer, who is known as the king of all things a cappella.
“Lev Tahor – LTV” drops in ten days on Rosh Chodesh Adar and if you take a listen, you won’t have to worry about being happy. You simply will be.

Throughout the ages, women always walked the line between wearing what was practical in style; as the role of the media changed, women's self-image became intimately tied to fashion, for better or worse. Come welcome the new moon of Adar II, the extra month of Adar, the month of Purim costumes and dress-up, as Rabbi Sarah Weissman helps us explore the power of attire and why we wear, or don't wear, certain things, and how they affect our self-image.
You are encouraged to bring an item of clothing that makes you feel good to wear, something you are afraid to wear, would love to wear but don't know how, etc., and we'll play and share and discuss how they make us feel and why, in a safe space with other Jewish women. Bring hats, scarves, or other attire you'd like to share with the group.
A Beth Am Women Event
*Reservations by Wednesday, February 26 greatly appreciated.
We strive to live as a holy community whose study and practice of Judaism inspires and challenges us to "do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with our God" (Micah 6:8).
