Reason For Marseille vs Toulouse Betting Tips

The past year or so has been an extremely difficult and disappointing time for Marseille fans. They went into the 2015/16 Ligue 1 season expecting to challenge for the Champions League qualification spots again after narrowly missing out to Lyon and Monaco in the 2014/15 campaign.

However, they simply couldn’t get a run of form going, with a seemingly endless run of draws being played out and the odd embarrassing defeat to make things even worse. There was actually a chance at one point that one of the giants of French football would be dragged into a relegation battle.

In the end they managed to escape the scrap though as they went unbeaten in their final five matches and won three of them, resulting in them finishing all the way down in 13th position with just 48 points from their 38 games. They ended up just nine points above the drop spots.

Michy Batshuayi was a shining light for Marseille though. He netted 17 of his side’s 48 Ligue 1 goals last season and looked unstoppable at times, which naturally sparked the attention of Europe’s big clubs. Before Euro 2016 was even over Chelsea had moved in, given him a medical in France and agreed to sign him for just over £30 million. The exodus didn’t stop there though, with left back Benjamin Mendy, right back Brice Dja Djedje, centre back Nicolas N’Koulou, goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, and midfielder Mario Lemina all leaving Marseille.

They have brought in Remy Cabella, defenders Tomas Hubocan, Hiroki Sakai, and Henri Bedimo, and attackers Floriant Thauvin and Bafetimbi Gomis as replacements, but they’re not really in the same league as the departed players. Marseille could struggle this season, and their pre-season hasn’t been kind to them either. They have only won two of their eight pre-season friendlies, losing three of them against fairly low quality opposition.

Whilst Marseille escaped the relegation battle last season, Toulouse were well in it right until the end. They were second from bottom in the table for much of the Ligue 1 season, but a late surge of points put them back in contention to remain in the top flight. Seven points from their final three Ligue 1 matches saw them climb out of the bottom three and survive by a margin of one point.

Toulouse had a shining light of their own to thank, with the talented Wissam Ben Yedder netting over 35% of their total league goals by himself. He has now left for Sevilla, with Ola Toivonen being brought in as a replacement for him. A couple of other useful players have left, but it’s been nowhere near the level of departure that Marseille have seen. The capture of winger Ola John from Benfica could turn out to be a very shrewd move as well. Toulouse’s pre-season has gone fairly well, with them beating Osasuna, Montpellier, and Nice before losing to Vitoria last Saturday.

In the league Toulouse have won one, drawn three, and lost four of their last eight away games, but they will feel slightly confident of getting something from Marseille on Sunday. The hosts only won one of their last 16 home matches in Ligue 1 last season, losing four and drawing a quite ridiculous 11 of them. Seven of these 16 games ended 1-1, so I think I know where my correct score prediction is heading.

The hosts were just poor beyond belief all throughout last season, and they have lost a lot of very important players over the summer. Toulouse have lost a couple of key players themselves, so I think these two will cancel each other out on Sunday night.

My prediction is for a draw to be played out, and odds of 23/10 for that outcome look excellent value considering Marseille’s record last season and their poor pre-season. I’m obviously backing a 1-1 correct score prediction at 5/1 as well.

Attacking midfielder Remy Cabella has been brought in, with defenders Tomas Hubocan, Hiroki Sakai, and Henri Bedimo also arriving. Floriant Thauvin and Bafetimbi Gomis have also joined on loan.

Goalkeeper Numan Bostan and midfielder Tongo Doumbia are sidelined. Toulouse have also lost star player Wissam Ben Yedder to Sevilla, with midfielder Adrien Regattin and defender Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik also leaving. Toulouse have brought in Ola Toivonen to replace Ben Yedder, whilst Christopher Julien provides a replacement at the back and Jessy Pi come in in the holding midfield spot. They have also secured left winger Ola John on loan from Benfica.

10. Use music to motivate your workouts.

11. Use compound exercises as much as possible. These exercises require multiple muscle groups to be used at once and therefore will burn the greatest amount of calories. Make sure these are first in your workout when you have the most energy.

12. Park your car far away.

13. Walk if you can.

14. Eat plenty of berries. The antioxidants will help reduce inflammation in your body which released a ton of nasty hormones which cause you to gain weight such as cortisol.

Honestly, I needed more self-discipline to lose weight by summer last year so I ended up going to Fit Farm in Nashville and I dropped like 9 pounds in 2 weeks. Did the trick for me… felt weird going to one of those ‘camps’, but honestly it was really pretty up there and the food was UH-MAZ-ING. Never got hungry, just was really tired until my bod got used to the punishment… lol.
